Training for civil servants for official use of languages and scripts of national minorities
The one-day training for civil servants was organized in Belgrade in cooperation with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, with the aim of education in the field of official use of languages and scripts of national minorities.
The training was held by the experts from the European Center for Minority Issues (ECMI), as part of the project activities "Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law in Serbia” jointly funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The representatives of regional police administrations, tax administrations, as well as representatives of regional units of the National Employment Service, the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance and the Republic Geodetic Institute attended the training. The purpose of the training is to gain a better understanding of the legislative framework related to the official use of languages and letters, as well as to acquire knowledge for the practical application of language rights, which will contribute to capacity building and effective management of issues related to minority rights in the daily work of the authorities.
