Legislation and practice in the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection
The importance of personal data protection, consent for processing, the purpose of the law and personal data processing and transfer on the legitimate basis laid down by law, are just some of the topics in the public focus.
In order to raise the quality and scope of the application of the law to a higher level, but also to exchange useful information in everyday challenges in the field of personal data protection, personal data protection trainings were held in Niš and Leskovac for the implementation of current legal solutions. The trainings were attended by representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, as well as authorized persons for the protection of personal data from numerous public institutions from both cities.
The aim of the trainings is to familiarize data protection officers and persons designated by controllers and processors of personal data (if they do not have designated data protection officers), to be introduced to current legal solutions (in the EU and the Republic of Serbia) and to enable them to properly implement the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The trainings were jointly implemented by representatives of
the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and
Personal Data Protection, and the “Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law
in the Republic of Serbia" (EU FOR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION AND FOR
FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS) co-financed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
