Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information of Public Importance
At the public debate dedicated to the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and the training of authorized persons to act upon the requests for free access to information of public importance, held in Novi Sad with the support of the project "Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia", Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Milan Marinović presented the results of his work so far and current challenges in the mentioned domains facing the society.
At the public debate on the topic of personal data protection, whose organization and implementation were supported by GIZ, special attention was paid to legal obligations that impose harmonization of numerous legal acts, as well as obligations of personal data processors.
The topic of training of authorized persons for handling requests for free access to information of public importance was "Free Access to Information of Public Importance Legislation and Practice", whose organization and implementation was supported by the Austrian Development Agency ADA, in cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy IACA.
