Panel discussions on personal data protection in Užice and Kraljevo
At two panel discussions organized in Užice and Kraljevo, on the topic of monitoring the implementation of the new Personal Data Protection Law, in the presence of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection Milan Marinović, Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, representatives of the Commissioner's Office, personal data controllers, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and the media, numerous aspects and challenges of improving the protection of personal data were discussed.
Challenges of personal data protection in the digital sphere were pointed out, as well as the ability to ensure quality of data protection, if they are processed by artificial intelligence in the future. The report on the Commissioner’s activities in the previous two years was presented at the panel discussion, with the overview on the authority of the Office of the Commissioner.
The organization of the panel discussion was supported by the Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law in Serbia (EU FOR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION AND FOR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS), a project jointly funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is responsible for the implementation of project activities related to the protection of personal data.
